Rules

The matches hosted by CDTSA and commonly referred to as "Mini Rifle" are "outlaw" matches not officially sanctioned by any governing body, such as IPSC, and not bound by their rules.

CDTSA Mini Rifle Rules

Location

All CDTSA Mini Rifle matches are held at the Milo range.  Please note the requirement to come down Range Road 223 and backtrack along Township Road 184.  Travelling this route keeps traffic down in front of the residences on Range Road 224.

Logistics and Setup

It is very important that we get a good turnout to help set up the match the day before, as well as help from all the participants to put stuff away when we're done. These are fun matches, but they can only happen if everyone chips in to help.  Setup starts at 10:00 AM the day before the main match (Saturday).

Several match participants will typically camp out at the range for the entire weekend, starting the Friday night before the match.

Registration

Registration on match day begins at 9:00 AM.  Registration will be followed by a safety briefing at 9:30 AM.  Attendance at the safety briefing is mandatory.  If you arrive after the safety briefing, you will be turned away.

Amenities

The Milo range is far enough from the nearest town that you cannot run off to get lunch, water, sunscreen, etc during the match. This is an outdoor event. Sometimes it's hot, sometimes it's cold, sometimes it's windy, sometimes it's muddy. Carts or wagons are a recommended way to transport your gear and supplies from range to range. Our range is built on a 1/4 section, so there's some walking involved when going from stage to stage.  Bring lunch, water, sunscreen, bug spray, a hat, sunglasses, etc.
